Something strange happened and it uninstalled Office. I had to reinstall again. No change in behavior. I do get a different behavior when I try to open one of the new profiles. It still throws an error, but it's now: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The properties button now works on each of the profiles, but you can't go any further than that. I created the first registry key and tested it. No apparent change. So I created the second one and did see a change.
Now it will create new profiles, but I still can't get into outlook. The error message is still the same "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. You may well be on to something about the user who had a lot of accounts--as I do. I have at least six accounts. I'll keep working on it. I'm going to run scanpst on the files they claim are "not outlook data files" and see what happens. I know I keep saying this, but I really do appreciate the time you've taken on this.
I ran scanpst against all PST files in my folder. All had a few errors including the brand new ones that have never been opened , but nothing in the logs appeared to be serious. I attempted to repair them, but in every case, they had the same number of errors after the repair as before. I ran scanpst on all OL data files multiple times. By the end, with one exception, all ran cleanly or came back with only "minor errors".
The exception was my main email and biggest email account. That one got the message that I told you about earlier: " An unexpected error prevented access to this file. It comes back clean. When I go through control panel, the "Mail Setup" dialog box comes up as usual, but of the four buttons on that box, only two of them work.
Not the respective screens, no error message, nothing at all. I love outlook and have used it for years, but this is making me think about switching clients. I'm having the same issue in Outlook Standard Desktop version. All other Office apps open properly. I have MANY office email accounts on several different tenants.
I suspect Two Factor Authentication for my situation. Since Microsoft's inevitable answer is to create a new profile, I won't call them. With 2FA sign ins for each account, clearing browser data, etc. This is the second time in three months I have had issues. The last time it happened, I took the opportunity to do a fresh Windows install. Now, I'm thinking I need to find another mail app. I can't keep dealing with these issues.

I created a new profile and added the several other e-mails that we have. I went to control panel, and selected always use this profile for the new profile. It worked the first time Outlook was restarted and once i closed Outlook it will not work again. We run a business and need access to the several e-mail though our outlook.
