During an update it froze for hours. I powered it off, and Windows would no longer boot. I have tried everything from, creating a bootable media drive, the recovery drive, and nothing works. F11 recovery does not work. It just goes to an Automatic Repair screen and freezes. Powering off 3 times does not bring up a troubleshoot screen, and only freezes again. I have reset the BIOS and nothing. The system test have shown all the hardware pass. The closest I've seen an actual boot is when I disable secure boot, an try to boot through legacy settings in the BIOS, but all I get I a Windows logo screen in a frozen state.

I was very excited for the new system, and I have a lot of work to do. I have searched through the internet and tried all the options, and nothing. This is the second time I've set up a new HP system in the past few weeks, and have had crash issues. I don't know what else to do. Tech support ran me through options and nothing worked. I am supposed to expect a call from a specialist, or something to that nature, but I'm not sure what to expect.

I need help.. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Yes, I disabled all the boot devices except the USB. It goes straight to the USB to boot. If I boot it in legacy mode, I finally get the Windows logo but it stays frozen.

This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. Sorry this didn't help. I have the same question 0.

May 31,  · Repair Master Boot Record (MBR). 2. Reset BIOS to Default. 3. Uninstall Windows Updates and check. 4. Go back to the previous version. 5. do a system restore. For more information, please refer to the following link: replace.me Oct 13,  · 1. Doing a force boot 3 times to try and get into safe mode - does not work. 2. Created recovery USB drive from a different computer and in BIOS changed the order to boot from USB drive, but still only see the black screen with blue windows logo and no hard drive activity (no hard drive light blinking) 3. Apr 20,  · Step 1: Get to the Advanced Troubleshooting Mode. Start the computer, and when you see the Windows logo, long-press the Power button and restart the PC. Repeat this process until Windows enters the automatic repair mode. When automatic repair fails and the next screen appears, click Advanced options.%
