Microsoft word 2013 headers different for each page free.Creating Different Footers for Each Page

I am writing a book in Microsoft Word , and the book is divided into different months. To use an example, the book starts in November, from chapters 1 - 8. I would like in the header for each page in those chapters for there to be the word "November" in the header.

For chapters 9 onward, I need the header to say "December". So when I type November into ONE header, it sets the header for every single page in the document to saying "November".

I know that this is how I make sure certain pages have different headers! But my problem is, Word will not allow me to click or unclick the "link to previous" button, so I have no choice but to let all the headers to be the same.

See the "Link to Previous" button? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. You have to start in Section 2's header which requires that you've already inserted at least one section break; in your example, that would be at the end of chapter 8.

Then, each time you want to change the header wording, you have to start a new section by inserting another section break, and then turn off Link to Previous in the new section. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 1 person found this reply helpful.

In our example, we'll restart the page numbering for our document's Works Cited section. Or, perhaps you want the first page footer to show some official disclaimer text for your company, and the footer in the rest of the document to show page numbers.
