My biggest hindrance to learning so far has simply been myself. For anyone out there just getting started with Inventor, set reminders and try to learn at least a little bit each day. This has been helping me and it keeps me from having to remember what I learned days ago. Right now, my biggest goal is to reach the autodesk inventor 2018 trial free of the trial and design my own assembly of some kind, then 3D print it all.

Today begins a day long journey for me through the Inventor free trial, one that will take me from knowing nothing about using Autodesk Inventor into hopeful proficiency. Back in college, I had some brief experience with SolidWorks. Trevor, I would like to share a few suggestions to make your Inventor learning a little more rewarding. Model around or to invengor origin. It makes for a proper oriented assembly down the road and it allows better use of the origin planes.
You will be tempted to combine your features, do not, it will pay off dividends down the road. You can sketch for as many features as you want in one sketch but make sure to model each seperately. Resist placing fillets and chamfers early unless they are part of the design. Remember at all times that the Browser is a chronological listing of your model and you can rearrange it, normally, to your benefit. For example, you forgot to add a fillet to an array, drag the"end of part" marker above the array, add the fillet, drag the end of part marker back down to the end then simply edit the array and add the feature to it.
